A timber picket fence needs sanding, priming, and repainting every few years to keep it looking sharp. In the Perth climate, that cycle speeds up — the UV and dry heat take their toll fast. Colorbond gives you a clean look, but it doesn't offer the picket style, and near the coast the cut edges are vulnerable to corrosion.
PVC gives you the modern picket look without the maintenance cycle. It won't rot, warp, split, or rust, and the colour runs right through the material so there's no paint to peel or fade. For a fence that's meant to look clean and uniform, that consistency over time is what makes PVC the better long-term choice. A quick hose down is all it needs.
